Understand your career goals

The first step to finding your future career is understanding what it actually is that you’re striving for. Knowing and acknowledging what you want your education to get you can help you achieve your goals in the long run. NAIT Career Services offers a variety of different resources that will help you figure out where you want to end up.

Check out a Career Services event

There are plenty of events hosted by NAIT Career Services that can give you insight into your career. Whether you’re interested in polishing up your resume and cover letter, or getting a head start at networking, Career Services has an event for you.

Career Services hosts an event where you can meet with actual employers from the industry to review your resume. It’s quick, just 15 minutes, and you get to talk one-on-one with an industry guest. Get quick but quality advice on your career path, and grab the opportunity to network while you’re there.

One-on-one advice and counselling

The easiest way to connect with Career Services is to book an appointment to meet for a one-on-one session with a career counsellor. You’ll score career advice, tips on your resume and cover letter, and get all your career questions answered. If you’re uncertain about your future, it’s a great way to figure some things out and take your career path to the next level.

You can book an appointment with a career counsellor through your myNAIT Portal. If you can’t make the time for an appointment, consider checking out one of Career Services’ “Ask a Career Coach” drop-in sessions. They happen every Thursday at lunch right outside the Student Service Centre in the CAT building. It’s a good way to get quick feedback and ask any questions you have.
