Why the Edmonton Corn Maze is a must-do this fall

The Edmonton Corn maze has been a massive fall attraction for Edmontonians and those in surrounding areas. It seems every Instagram post these past few weeks are pictures of people in the pumpkin patch or in the sunflower field. The maze is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year, and it’s changed a lot in that time. Back in 2005 the maze was transformed into “Farm of Fear” a Halloween attraction. But in 2014 the owners decided to move away from it, to focus on creating a fun, family-friendly event. That same year the maze was relocated, allowing them to have more activities and permanent facilities. In 2018, they were able to build a market building, where they sell some of the best kettle corn ever.

Now, the maze attracts thousands of visitors who come to visit and enjoy all that the maze has to offer. There’s of course the corn maze itself, which this year is honouring AMA’s 100th birthday. The maze is split into two parts, with questions including trivia, riddles, and AMA statistic question posted throughout. The answer to these questions give hints to help navigate through the maze.

Another great attraction is the farm animals. On the right of the entrance, just past the farm market, visitors can find an array of farm animals. There’s goats, pigs chickens and rabbits. All of them are fenced off, however visitors are encouraged to interact with them. All of the animals are very friendly and people can buy animal feed for a quarter to feed them. And there’s lots more to do at the maze. Definitely an attraction worth going to.
