The Perfect Places in Edmonton For Your Next Date Night

By Darrien Byers on March 21, 2025

I know what you’re thinking, “Darrien, you’re a single man. How on earth could you know the best date night spots?” You’d be right, I am a single man. However, I am also a date night spot connoisseur. You honestly never know when you’ll need a good date night spot. Consider this to be your guide to the best date night spots in Edmonton.

The Muttart Conservatory

To put it simply, I’m a plant guy. I see plants, I fall in love. If you asked me, I’d say this is one of the best places in Edmonton.

With each glass pyramid being the home to a different biome of plants, it truly makes for a magical and romantic date. To add to the date night experience, every Wednesday they have special “Adult-only” nights that run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. That’s right, you and your special someone can enjoy a child-free night under the stars with cool looking plants and your favourite adult beverage.

Another highlight to the Muttart Conservatory is their fourth pyramid, a themed pyramid that changes every few months. Last time I went there on a date, it was a dinosaur theme, which, for a dinosaur nerd like me, was pretty cool. Right now, the fourth pyramid is home to “Mars at the Muttart,” which includes a 7 metre in diameter, glowing, NASA detailed replica of Mars hanging from the ceiling. If that isn’t the perfect date night photo opportunity then I don’t know what is.

The Parlour Italian Kitchen and Bar

Four words for The Parlour. Italian food done right. From the rustic, industrial interior to their Fettuccine, this place is truly to die for.

If you’re like me, you love Italian food but you also love a good photo opportunity and this place is the perfect combination of both. Located just outside of MacEwan University, The Parlour blends a cozy date night atmosphere with the sights of Downtown Edmonton. With the stellar service and the top-notch food and drinks, The Parlour has really mastered the dinner date night.

Besides the beautiful interior, the food and drinks are some of the best I’ve had in a while. If you do end up going there, which you should, I would highly recommend the Pollo Alla Diavola pizza, the Arancini starter, and, for my 18 plus people, the Malibu Sangria cocktail.

The Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary

If money and budget is an issue for you, here is a date night option that is completely free! As stated earlier, I’m a plant guy. I see plants, I fall in love.

The Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary is honestly the perfect way to reconnect with Alberta’s natural wildlife while spending time with the one you love. Though under technicalities, it is located 33km outside of Edmonton, its easy-to-navigate trails and boardwalks make it worth the drive. The Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary has been providing a safe space for plants and animals since 1977 and is now the home to over 100 different species of birds.

Its 348 acres of land truly are not to be missed. After all, there is a reason that we at NR92 are partnering with them for our NR92 campaign. Not only is it amazing quality time with your partner, but it also is the perfect way to have an active little date night. Just remember, do NOT feed the birds.

The best part about all of these? They’re all local to Edmonton! Supporting local, especially in the world we’re in today, is so important to do! Whether it’s local musicians through NR92’s New Music Nooner or local businesses and places for your next date night, there is always a way to support local, especially in Edmonton!
