The Importance of Memes

Memes are a massive part of social media. Whether you enjoy them by double-tapping your screen while scrolling mindlessly, or you have a creative mind that comes up with these ridiculous pieces of media, memes are something that everyone can love.

Memes are beautiful because they can come in so many different formats. Video memes are something that you see more on TikTok, whereas stagnant photo memes are something you would find on X, Instagram, or Reddit. They can be about all different kinds of topics. You could search something specific like the new Gladiator movie, or something funny for everyone like a hilarious Robot meme.

Something I’ve discovered about memes is that they are so fun and so easy to make. I personally use the free website Canva to create memes, just because it has such simple formatting, tons of wonderful ideas, and some fantastic insert options like different fonts and font effects, stickers, gifs, and colour options.

Overall memes revolutionized social media. I believe they’re one of the most important forms of content because there are thousands of things for everyone. Sometimes people just need a good laugh! They are also great for interaction because friends, coworkers, colleagues, partners, family members, everyone shares relevant memes with eachother.

Overall, even though there are tons of trendy memes, memes as a trend will never die. And I, for one, am stoked about it.
