The Best Thing Bethesda Made

Skyrim reached the level of “Iconic Game” about 10 minutes after the first copy was sold back in November of 2011 and since then it has gone on to be re-mastered and ported to newer consoles and less popular consoles such as the Nintendo Switch.

This is a good thing because it means that thousands (if not millions) of people have experienced the Wabbajack

The Wabbajack is a magical staff that does A LOT of stuff. It can summon monsters to fight alongside you (or against you if you’re unlucky) or it will disintegrate your target, but maybe it will turn them into a random amount of cheese wheels. It truly is a magnificent creation but needs to be treated with respect.

The first time I played Skyrim back in 2012 the Wabbajack was one of the first Daedric weapons I found (Daedra are the Gods of Skyrim, and not always the nicest ones either) and I had no idea how to use it. At one point I was trying to see what it would do to food in one of the palaces when I accidentally turned a major NPC into a sweet roll. I picked up the sweet roll thinking I would find a way to reverse the spell later, or maybe the effects would just wear off and the NPC would appear in front of me in a few in-game days.

As time passed and the spell never wore off I eventually forgot about the man-turned-sweet roll in my inventory and due to some bad resource management while in a crypt, I found myself in need of food to recover health. And that’s the story of how I ended the Storm Cloak rebellion by consuming Ulfric Storm Cloak, leader of the rebels.
