Terrell Edwards: Soul From Another Era

By Nick Petlock on February 22, 2021

American born musician and songwriter Terrell Edwards is making waves throughout Alberta. His appearances on countless radio and news stations showcase the brilliant “soul-singer” style that has made him stand out. Edwards’ unique blend of R&B, soul and gospel has helped some of his songs reach Billboards top 200.

As the youngest child, Edwards, grew up with a great interest in music, studying as a vocalist and saxophonist and later picking up drums and piano. Following his return from serving in the U.S. Navy, Edwards continued to build his resume as a songwriter, businessman and motivational speaker. After working with multi-platinum producer Allan “Grip” Smith on multiple projects in Atlanta, Edwards returned to his musical roots to pursue his passion of performing and producing.

Edwards has worked with Smith on a wide array of artist projects including Keith Sweat, Old Skool, Jagged Edge, Dru Hill and Excape. This makes him a well versed individual in the broadcasting world. Edwards even produced his own radio show in 2014 called “Inspire Time” alongside the music videos and live production pieces he’s been working on.

Edwards is an astounding musician in so many ways, it feels imposing to list them all. From his talent as a musician able to play a wide array of instruments, including the piano and saxophone, to his euphoric vibrato which has been compared to the likeness of Frank Sinatra, Edwards continues to serve as an inspiration through his actions, and as an incredibly talented individual through his music.

What’s more is that during February, which is host to Black History Month, Edwards provides a unique look into the culture of African American musicians. He stands as a role model to many, and is a testimony to the fight for equal rights for all. His music speaks it’s meaning for itself, as does his talent. His music is more than worth checking out on his official website or Instagram. His most recent album, The Greatest Gift of All is out on Spotify alongside Unchained.

During this pandemic, we all deserve to have some relaxing, melodic music in our lives. So show some love and support for Edwards while also treating yourself to some excellent works of art.

Edwards will also be featured on a segment of NR92’s The Feed show, airing February 26th, so be sure to tune in to hear from the legend himself!
