Stop doom scrolling with these 4 social media personalities
By Macy Jackson on April 3, 2026
Have you ever heard of the term ‘doom scrolling?’ It’s what happens when you spend too much time scrolling through your social media, seeing either mindless or most likely negative content that both waste your time and doesn’t do anything to better your mood. Now, we live in an age of content, and not everyone can just up and delete their accounts, especially when they want to stay connected to the world around them. But just because you can’t get rid of your social media, that doesn’t mean that you can’t curate your feed to something a bit more positive. Here’s 4 social media accounts that are guaranteed to change your feed for the better!
- Thatgoodnewsgirl
This is the perfect creator to stop you from doomscrolling. As the extro of all her videos go, this content creator’s name is Jen, and she posts something positive every day in order to brighten the lives of any who happen to come across her videos. Whether it has to do with new, interesting information about animals who like to snuggle instead of fight like the Japanese-dwarf-flying squirrel, or a story about the kindness of strangers, Jen makes sure to bring you the news that will restore your faith in humanity. You can find her on Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube, or Facebook.
- David Larbi
Despite knowing how loved and important it is to many readers and romantics out there, I’ve never been one for poetry. David Larbi has changed my mind. He’s a writer, poet, and creator from England who frequently posts himself reciting his poetry on his social media. His works can range from fun, to silly, to introspective, and through his posting, has built up an online community who have learned to love words as much as he does. I liked him so much that his first book, ‘Frequently Happy,’ which was published just last year, was immediately placed on my to-read list. Follow him on Tiktok, Instagram, or Youtube if you’d like a dose of positivity in your life.
- Beeveekee
This one’s a bit of a pivot tone-wise compared to the recommendations above. Beeveekee is a content creator that makes a lot of skits, most of which happen to be horror-themed. She’s incredibly skilled with her creative use of makeup, costumes and editing, frequently using audio clips in ways you wouldn’t expect that make it so you can’t look away! One of her most popular skits is actually a series, called Not Your Normal Kids Show, where she plays the character of Dottie. The setting is bright and the music is upbeat until the moment it isn’t, and you realize that Dottie’s world isn’t as fun and safe as it looks. You can find the whole series on Youtube, and Beeveekee can also be found on Instagram and Tiktok.
- mags_maze_art
Back to the non-scary content creators. Mags likes to draw, and frequently posts her comics online. Which is something that I am very grateful for. Her art style is simple but realistic, and her comics can mostly be viewed through a slice-of-life lens that puts funny spins on casual, ordinary occurrences. One of the series that made her rise in popularity was that of the lives of city pool lifeguards, which many comments say gives ‘Parks and Recreation vibes.’ Every time she posts, I make sure to stop and swipe through the panels so I can get a laugh. She’s revealed she gains inspiration through her own family and friends, and can be found on Instagram.
There you have it! Four lovely content creators that will stop you on your journey to doomscroll. Make sure to give at least one of them a follow, and I guarantee it’ll brighten up your day, and your social media feeds.
