So you want to start a career in Radio? Great choice. NAIT and the campus station, NR92 is the best place to get started in the industry.
I have recently finished my time here at NAIT in the Radio and Televison program and this was one of the best decision I have ever made. I’ll be honest, before joining this program I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. While scrolling through NAIT’s programs, I found this one and thought “That sounds cool.” And it sure was.
This program has taught me so much about the industry and how I can succeed in it. While they teach you the basics of Radio, they also teach you how to go above and beyond, and creat a name for yourself.
In the Radio program you will learn everything about being on-air, perfecting production, providing the best news, being a content creator, and how to make the radio station money. All of these are key skills to having a successful radio station. You will discover what you are strong at, for me on-air is my strong-suit, and you will find what you struggle in, I am not strong at production (sorry Dave).
You eventually are in charge of NR92, and you and your classmates can make the station how you want it, with what you talk about on-air and what music to add.
What I value most out of this entire experience is the people I met along the way.
I have met some amazing people in this program who have had a huge impact on my life. You create life-long friendships in this program.
