Spooky Halloween Tunes You Need to Hear

By Paul Kusmire on October 17, 2023

Halloween is almost around the corner. With that comes the usual, pumpkins, bats, ghosts and o yeah! Spooky music! But this isn’t to tell you the usual like Thriller and Werewolf of London. There are plenty of small and medium-sized bands out there who have been carrying on the tradition of deadly tunes and dreaded lyrics. So here is my personal favourite list of bands and songs you should add to that ever-extensive list titled “Halloween Beats”

THINGS THAT POP IN THE NIGHT!

The first song is one that some might have familiarity with. If you remember the horror classic Corpse Bride this song may have more of that classic bone-rattling tune. This band has been doing a mix of both spooky and folk-style songs for many years now. With many other beats like Scare Me and the now-just-released An Italian Werewolf in St. Louis. This band can truly spark up the bolts in your head once you hit that play button.

UNDEAD GROOVEN!

Bear Ghost may be someone you have seen pop up on many Spotify binges. With a pension for fast-paced lyrics that twist together for the ultimate concoction of melodic evil and sadistic serenades. They even did a song about an evil BBQ joint. This band can find the perfect mix of just creepy enough and still making it sound as if the party just started! They even have songs made this year to keep your scary tunes updated.

THE FEATURE OF CREATURES

This South Californian band sticks to many of the troupes you might have heard back in the books and TV shows that kept you up at night. Even their album art takes the twisted styles of Beetlejuice. They really are the Greatest Show Unearthed or at least what their albums say. This band started with a bang and has never strayed from the path of ghosts, ghouls and the general idea that Halloween can go on past the month of October. They even released a new song recently Every Day is Halloween.

If you know of any underground bands that others have yet to unearth, why not pass the shovel and drop a name in the comments or let us at NR92 know through Instagram.
