Reason #1 why you should listen to Kickin’ it with Kenz!
By Mackenzie Butz on October 27, 2025
If you read my last blog, then you know that I talked about the top three reasons why you should listen to my after-hours show, Kickin’ it with Kenz.
Well, this blog is all about reason numero uno! Fun facts. There are fun facts for EVERYTHING, and who doesn’t love learning random factoids that you can then share with your friends?!
There are SO many fun facts out there about anything and everything. Animals, food, everyday products, people, places, patterns, dates, coincidences, you name it, there’s a fun fact for it! When you learn a new, fun fact, it sure tickles a special part of your brain. At least for me. Learning the most random facts brings me joy, and my goal here, is to pass that knowledge-based joy onto you!
These are just SOME of the fun-fact stories I’ve covered on my show in the past:
- A gopher museum in Torrington, Alberta.
- A glass frog that can basically make itself invisible to predators.
- Identical twins that were separated at birth and lived separate lives but despite that, lived IDENTICAL lives to each other.
- A research experiment that proves humans can literally smell fear.
- Bubble wrap was originally created as a textured wallpaper to revolutionize interior design.
- Fed Ex only exists because the owner, who, back in 1974, was on the verge of bankruptcy and was about to lose his company, got VERY lucky at a Casino.
The list is long, I’d even dare to say endless. I’ll cap it there, for your sake, but you get the idea!
Allow me to give you a little taster of these so-called “fun facts.”
Starbucks, the well-known coffee company, has over 17,000 locations nationwide and about 40,000 worldwide. Well, Brownsville, Texas just got a new Starbucks drive-thru, but what makes this 1,400-square-foot location unique is that it’s the company’s first ever, 3D-printed store in the U.S.
Similar to a 3D printer, a robotic arm poured concrete in layers to create the building, which is drive-thru only.
It kinda looks like the inside of a Kit Kat or wafer cookie. Or a stack of crepes!
Starbucks hasn’t announced if there will be more 3D building plans for the future, or why they chose Brownsville, Texas for the first ever 3D printed location. I think we can all agree that this is pretty dang cool!
If you wanna hear ALL the fun facts, make sure you tune into Kickin’ it with Kenz every Monday from 5-6 p.m. Listen live at NR92.com! I look forward to blessing your brain with all of the random bits of knowledge in my back pocket, and by that, I mean my phone’s very extensive and constantly growing notes thread.
