Ranking Taylor Swift’s Albums

By Katelyn Mos on December 14, 2023

Taylor Swift is one of my favourite artists. Her music just has a way of speaking to you, and she has a song for every emotion you may be feeling. I have been a fan ever since her first album, so I have walked through every era with her. I wanted to rate all of her albums and let you know exactly how each album makes me feel.

Let’s start with my least favourite album.

10. Reputation

I know I know, if you are a reputation fan, Im sorry. This album is when I took a bit of a step back from Taylor Swift because this was a whole new sound for her that I didn’t know how to feel about. Don’t get me wrong, she does have some really good songs on this album like “Getaway Car”, “Delicate”, and “Dress”. This album took a turn from her original country sound and went way more pop and a bit of rock.

9. Debut Album

I know I said I became a fan at this album and obviously at one point this was my favourite, but Taylor has released 10 albums so far so clearly my favourites have changed over the past 17 years. This album has some huge hits like “Our song”, “Picture to burn”, and of course her first single “Tim McGraw”. CLASSICS!! I am so excited to hear Debut (Taylor’s Version) because her voice has changed so much over the years.

8. Lover

Lover is such a unique and different album. First of all I love how she released Reputation then Lover. Two totally different moods. This album is so iconic, I mean…. Cruel Summer….that’s all I have to say. I think the only song i don’t like is “ME!” but when its on I’m still singing to it.

7. 1989 (Taylor’s Version)

If you asked me to do this blog when we only had the stolen version, I would probably be in Debut’s spot. I was never a huge fan of this album, I mean she has so many amazing songs but i just wasn’t my taste. BUT NOW………. The vault tracks kill me. They are going back to what I said at the beginning where she just speaks to you. When this album was released, she said everything I wanted to say a certain someone. So thank you Taylor for letting me scream my heart out in the car to these songs. (I just want to let you know im listening to “Is It Over Now” while I’m writing this and its making me type like a mad-man.)

6. Fearless (Taylor’s Version)

Now this album puts me in a different place. I’m back in my childhood bedroom pretending I’m Taylor, performing infront of my stuffed animals, doing her iconic hair flips and terribly playing my guitar. This album just gives me so much nostalgia. I remember wrapping my blanket around me pretending it was a dress and acting like I was in the Love Story music video.

5. Folklore

Same thing as 1989, if you asked me earlier this year where would folklore sit on this list? It would be near the bottom as well. When it came out during the pandemic I did not like it at all and didn’t bother listening to the whole album. But I took the time and listened to it, and man I fell in love. Something about ‘my tears ricochet” and “the lakes”. Those songs just hot different for me. She said when she was writing it, it was like her escape and she could live in her own world. That is exactly how I feel listening to it. I’m in a forest living in a fantasy.

4. Red (Taylor’s Version)

All to Well (10 minute version). That’s all I have to say. {Here lies Katelyn Mos- cause of death: art}

3. Evermore

Evermore was in the exact same boat as Folklore. They both came out during the pandemic and it just didn’t speak to me……. WELL…… that sure changed with this album. I’m convinced it’s made out of gold. It’s another escape from the real world but still more real-world experiences in it.

2. Midnights

This album has such a different sound compared to the rest of her albums, but it’s a masterpiece. Every song is absolutely amazing and so catchy. Songs like “Midnight Rain”, “Lavender Haze”, and “Vigilante S***” just get me going.

  1. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)

BEST ALBUM EVER!!!! This album has some of  my favourite songs in it like “Back to December”, “Enchanted”, ’Sparks Fly”. This album was huge turning point for me, I was a fan before this album but this album made me fall in love with her. I was so excited for when she re-relased this album and her vault tracks…… GOLD!!! There is not one bad song on the album. The song put you ina new world that you never want to live.

Taylor has had a huge impact on my life, and I can listen to her music no matter what I’m feeling. We have songs from almost every album on NR92. There are lots of songs from her early years and now more than ever we have added her music into our music library. If you ever need your Taylor fix, just listen to NR92, we will definitely play your favourite song from her.

One more thing… you might be wondering what (Taylor’s Version) is? Every song or album that has that in the title, before her Lover album, means that she finally owns the rights to that song/album. Her old manger (who we don’t speak of) stole all of the rights to her music from her first 6 albums. Here at NR92 we only listen to (Taylor’s Version) and so should you.
