Q&A: Ooks Leadership Council member reveals upcoming events for NAIT athletics

There is more to Ooks athletics than just the sports themselves. Within the athletics community at NAIT there is the Ooks Leadership Council which operates their own campus events to help bond the different sports teams. OLC member Anna Atcheynum shares what those events are.
Q: What events do you guys have planned coming up for the OLC?
A: We kind of have the basic events that we have every year, including the Christmas party and the year end banquet party. We also have a lot of Ooks support Ooks events that we’re planning so other teams can come out and watch and support other teams.
At Christmas break, we’re also trying to get teams to play other sports that they’re not usually playing and play against other teams.
Q: Tell me more about the Ooks support Ooks nights.
A: So, the Ooks support Ooks is basically to get out and watch other sports that you’re not normally a part of, just so you can get lots of support within the organization and build camaraderie within athletics.
These events are a great way to build support within the sport community here at NAIT but to also give the athletes a break from their daunting schedules.
