Phasmophobia’s Crimson Eye opens once again
By Liz Parent on October 24, 2025
‘Oh, Crimson Eye of the Eternal Night, under your blood-stained light, I beseech thee to hear our call once more.
By the power of your scarlet gleam, I ask you, oh Crimson Eye, summon forth your servants from realms beyond mortal comprehension. Aide us in our journey to finality, our journey to utopia.
Open the gates to the otherworldly and let your presence be known.
From the depths of the forgotten and the forsaken, bestow upon us your blood-red blessing.’
It’s October and with that comes the time of spooky game events! Phasmophobia is all over that with their Crimson Eye event returning! not only is the event perfect for Halloween but the game itself is just a perfect spooky game all year round.
.
If you don’t know the game, here’s a quick overview it before we get into the event;
It’s a first person survival horror puzzle game. You can play alone or with friends. The goal is to hunt ghosts and collect evidence using different paranormal detection items, oh. . . and try not to let the ghost get you! The game has become more silly with friends online than super scary but regardless it’s a good time and you can definitely get startled!
.
But where, oh where can you get this game?
- Steam
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox
How much – how much the game cost
- $25.99 CDN
When is this super cool event happening?
- October 9th – 31st October. (There’s still time to play! And if you miss it this year, at least you’ll know not to miss it next year!)
Now onto the event itself;

‘The Crimson Eye Returns’ the official name for this year’s Halloween event, is pretty similar to that of last years. The development team of Phasmophobia has been hard at work revamping the game as a whole so it makes sense that they tweaked the Halloween update this year base don that of the year before. When it comes to developing you really have to pick and choose your battles to make sure you can hit deadlines in time. Regardless the event still has an abundance to check out.
.
During the event, specific maps will have ‘Blood Moon’ weather. While this weather is occurring more difficult challenges will arise for you ghost hunters out there. Ghost will have increased speed during hunts, your sanity will drop faster, BUT you’ll also get higher rewards upon the completion of an investigation. There’s also these creepy things known as Moon Alters that you can now interact with during your investigation. Don’t forget to take a picture before you click it or else it’ll disappear!
The maps that will have Blood Moon weather are;
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- Camp Woodwind
- Grafton Farmhouse
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Point Hope
- 42 Edgefield Road
- 13 Willow Street
These maps rotate in groups of 4 everyday for guaranteed Blood Moon weather and all other maps will have a random chance for the special weather.
.
Now you’ve probably hit that point where you’re wondering what the heck you get as a reward. Other then loads of fun, the rewards this year are;
- Receive the Child of the Cult ID Card & Badge set (Community Goal 1)
- Receive the Blood Moon trophy (Community Goal 2)
- Receive the animated Child of the Cult ID Card. (Personal Goal 1)
- Upgrade the Crimson Eye trophy (Personal Goal 2)
These rewards are split between community engagement and personal engagement. By doing so this of course encourages communities playing together with the common goal of getting the big rewards and still keeping the individuality of getting your own rewards even if you get too scared to play more then a few games.
.
Phasmophobia is already the perfect spooky game to play with friends but with it’s Halloween Crimson Eye special event it ups the stakes. It gives it a scarier vibe then usual and adds a few fun features and rewards to collect. Although it’s nothing majorly new, it still adds a fun Halloween charm and makes you wonder what will come out next year after the rest of the major updates are done.
