Oil Kings Lose Yet Again

By Riley Neilson on November 16, 2022

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but the Oil Kings lost again on Tuesday night, a 4-1 decision to the Red Deer Rebels.

Red Deer scored four unanswered goals before the Oil Kings finally scored on one of their final of 11 powerplays. As has been the case for most of the season, special teams were the killer of the Oil Kings as Red Deer scored three goals on their powerplay.

Red Deer goalie Kyle Kelsey made 23 saves for the Rebels.

At the other end, Kolby Hay made 33 saves in the losing effort. Kalan Lind led the way for the Rebels skaters with a pair of goals. Carson Golder scored the Oil Kings’ lone goal. Ethan Peters of the Oil Kings played in his 100th career WHL game.

The Oil Kings are back in action on Friday at home against the Brandon Wheat Kings as they search for win number three. Puck drop is set for 7 pm.
