My favourite and least favourite packs in The Sims 4

By Kate Gullekson on April 26, 2024

About a month ago news broke that Margo Robbie’s production company would be producing a movie based on the popular Sims game. The Sims has been a popular game for 24 years making its debut in 2000. In The Sims series there are four games with Sims 4 being the most current one. The Sims 4 has the base game that is available for free. The base game includes a number of create a sim and build and buy mode options. But many Sims players like myself want more options for our games. That’s where packs come into play. Packs give the opportunity for players to have more options in their games. Today I am going to be talking about my favourite and least favourite expansion, game and stuff packs from The Sims 4.

Expansion Packs:

Expansion packs are the most expensive but they include the most stuff. You get new gameplay options, sometimes new worlds to play in, and they always include a lot of create a sims and build and buy mode options as well.

Favourite: Seasons

This is a great expansion pack. There was no new world in this pack but all the existing worlds in the Sims now experience all four seasons. The pack comes with some new careers, create a sim and build mode options which added a lot to gameplay. This is the pack I use all the time in The Sims and it impacts my game the most. That’s why it’s at the top of the list.

Least Favourite: Get Together

This pack is mainly focused on the new feature called clubs. I don’t use clubs in a lot of my games. My Sims sometimes get asked to join clubs but they don’t go to any gatherings. The main reason I like this pack is because it has one of the biggest worlds in the game. Other than that it isn’t that great and I don’t use the pack often.

Game Packs:

Game packs have less stuff then expansion packs but include new gameplay options and sometimes a new world. They are also cheaper than expansion packs. There are quite a few game packs that I really enjoy but I’ll just tell you my favourite and least favourite.

Favourite: My Wedding Stories

I prefer to play a more lifestyle game when I play Sims. The Sims had weddings before this pack came out but they were very basic. This pack gives you the choice to plan your wedding, change your wedding outfit and better wedding venues. Now I actually take the time to plan my Sims wedding instead of just getting them to elope because it’s faster.

Least Favourite: Star Wars: Journey to Batuu

I never use this pack. To get the most out of this pack you have to go to Batuu and I never do that. And I’m not that big into Star Wars. I never use this pack even for create a sim and build mode items. That’s why it’s my least favorite.

Stuff Packs:

Stuff packs offer create a sim and buy mode stuff for your game but no gameplay features or world. These packs cost $10 and are great if you want new clothes and furniture for your games. Or if you want to stay on the cheaper side.

Favourite: Perfect Patio

This pack is my favourite because it made my sims back yard so much better. And hot tubs were the main reason I brought this pack in the first place. I use this pack in every single one of my games and that is why it’s my favourite stuff pack.

Least Favourite: Spooky Stuff

This is a pack I never use. This pack doesn’t provide a lot of stuff for me. In most of my games my Sims don’t celebrate Halloween and that would be the only reason I use this pack in The Sims. Maybe this is my wake up call to use it more.

I hope this makes your decision making easier in case you are debating what pack to get. Or maybe this is your sign to try any of The Sims games. I love this game and I hope you love it too! Comment what your favourite Sims packs are below!
