Just a few animation movie soundtracks.

By Nick Petlock on April 1, 2021

Since I love movies, I thought I would do a sequeI to my first soundtrack blog post. I’ve always been a fan of animation, so this time we’re gonna talk about a few of my favourite animation movie soundtracks and songs.

We’ll start it off with a stinky, green ogre. How can you go wrong with, Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz and of course Eddie Murphy as the “Donkey”. Those three make up a fabulous trio in this 2001 fairytale from Dreamworks animation. Shrek is about mean little Lord Farquaad who exiles fairytale creatures to the swamp of a grumpy ogre named Shrek. Shrek then must go on a quest and rescue a princess for the little lord in order to get his land back. Smashmouth’s hit song All-Star is a feature of this soundtrack.

The next soundtrack is from a movie that’s on the all-time top 100 animated movies list. And it was nominated for an Oscar. The 2012 Disney movie, Wreck it Ralph features the voice of John C Reilly as Ralph. If you like video games, especially ones that come to life then you know what I’m talking about. Owl City, When Can I See You Again opens up this fantastic soundtrack.

Ester Dean with the song Let it Grow leads an amazing lineup of artists from the Lorax soundtrack. Based on the book of the same name by Dr.Suess, the Lorax stars Danny Devito, Zac Efron and Taylor Swift as the voice of Audrey. I could have put other Dr. Suess movies or songs in here but how can you go wrong with the Lorax. Not only entertaining it also provides some valuable life lessons. Hopefully you didn’t miss them if you watched the movie.

There you have it. A very short list of animation movie soundtracks that you might enjoy if you haven’t heard them yet. And if you haven’t heard them head over to the NR92 Spotify page and have a listen.
