It’s that time of year again here in Edmonton – snow, chilly weather, and poor road conditions

It’s December, and you know what that means, right? That’s right, it means that not only is the countdown to Christmas on, but also the expectancy of snow, chilly weather, and bad road conditions. I myself have had to suffer from this, because at least once, trying to get from NAIT to the subway station was not fun – during it, you could feel that the temperature was cold and therefore discomforting.

Other forms of having to suffer from this that I have encountered includes having to shovel sidewalks, having to get rides home from the subway station even though it’s within walking distance from where I live right now, having to take the train to school on certain mornings because getting a direct ride in would take longer than taking the train would due to poor road conditions, and having to witness the side doors of my father’s minivan not being able to open because they are frozen. Needless to say that when it came to the minivan doors, my father and I did manage in the end to get them open without having to take the minivan into some sort of car dealership. But still, there are probably quite a few Edmontonians who are dealing with all this commotion and are therefore not happy.

I also keep having to moisten my hands with hand cream quite often, and my lips a couple times had some dead skin on them. In fact, on December 9th while I was on my way home on the train, my hands were so dry they started bleeding. I’m okay now, though.

On the bright side though, snowfalls can create beautiful scenery, as pictured in this image below.
