Sometimes you just have to get out of the city and immerse yourself in nature. Getting out of the hustle and bustle and into the calming outdoors is not only good for your physical health but your mental health too.

Just a short 30 minute drive from Edmonton is the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary. A place for you to unwind and connect with yourself and the incredible flora and fauna Alberta has to offer. The sanctuary protects 348 acres of marshland, open meadow and pine forest. These diverse habitats allow Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary to be home to over 100 bird species.

With several walking trails winding through the Cattails and reeds or the Jackpine forest, Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary provides the perfect space to clear your mind and reduce feelings of anxiety or stress. The sanctuary, located just 33 km southwest of Edmonton also provides a great space to sit and have lunch with friends or family in the designated picnic areas.

We all have different reasons for wanting to connect to nature. For some the calming effect nature has on us is contagious. For others, seeing wildlife up close and personal is the draw. Either way- come enjoy nature and all it has to offer at the Clifford E. Lee Nature Sanctuary.
