3 Podcasts Guaranteed to Make You Laugh

By Ewan King on September 22, 2022

Listening to podcasts has become a staple in many people’s daily routines. A typical morning for me, a college student in my last semester of studies involves an early rise in the morning, a quick pit-stop at Tim’s and a half-hour drive to school. To pass the half-hour quicker, I’ve recently started listening to podcasts instead of music. It’s a perfect time for some quick entertainment, to learn something new or to fit in a few laughs, all depending on the genre of the podcast of course. Here are my 3 go-to podcasts I listen to right now:

The Basement Yard

I’ve been a fan of The Basement Yard for years. The host, Joe Santagato, has been around the internet and social media since the days of Vine. The chemistry he has with his long-time co-host, Frank Alvarez, is sure to bring a smile to your face. The best part about The Basement Yard is that there isn’t really a genre to describe it other than comedy. It’s just two lifelong friends having a blast together, which makes for a great listen.

Wild Ride! with Steve-O

The Jackass star is undoubtedly famous for doing crazy things to both himself and his friends. In my opinion, somewhat of a hidden gem of his career is his podcast, Wild Ride! The whole premise of the podcast is celebrity interviews, but they come off much more casual than the typical talk show-style interview. Part of that is due to the podcast format, but the other part comes from the fact that each podcast is recorded in his custom RV fitted with cameras and microphones. It makes for a cozy set which seems to bring out a sense of relaxation for his guests which helps them be comfortable, stay relaxed and share really interesting stories. If you’re looking for celebrity interviews, Wild Ride! is a must.

2 Bears, 1 Cave

If you’re into comedy and you don’t know Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer, you’re living under a rock. When two of the biggest comedians in the world come together for the sole reason to chat and trade jokes, it makes for nothing but laughs and good times. One of my favourite parts of 2 Bears, 1 Cave is that Tom and Bert are so naturally funny, you can regularly hear the producers bursting out into loud laughter in the background. This podcast is my go-to if I’m having a particularly rough morning because you can’t help but crack a smile.

Podcasts showcase the experiences of so many different people. There have been so many times that I’ve been listening to a podcast and I end up learning something super cool when I was just looking for some entertainment, and vice-versa. Hopefully, this list is a good jumping-off point for you to start listening to podcasts yourself. There’s at least one out there for every type of person.
