2000’s Pop hits that impacted the world

When we talk about history in the music industry, we cannot pass without mentioning the start of the “Pop Era” and how the 2000 made pop genre the monstrosity that is now. Pop obviously existed before that, but it was not as massive as it is today, nor did it hold such a large fan base. Let me analyze the songs that were released since 2000 and how impactful those were at that time.

The first song is “Crazy in love” by Beyonce. It became a hit quickly. The song was part of her debut album Dangerously in Love, with the whole song having a pop rhythm it also incorporates a rap verse from the rapper and her now husband Jay-Z. The song quickly became number one in the United States and in United Kingdom, also reaching the attention of multiple countries around the world. The song was acclimated by the people and the music critics who found Beyonce’s vocals assertive.

Continuing with the Hits that saw the light in the 2000’s the Colombian singer Shakira released the song “Whenever, wherever” in 2001 which was originally thought to be only produced in Spanish with the name of “Suerte” that means luck in English, which ended up being adapted to English with the assistance of Gloria Estefan. The two versions ended up being available so it is a song that can be enjoyed if you speak Spanish or English. But the feeling and the story that it shares to the public is the same.

If we talk about “Pop Era” we cannot leave behind the “Pop Icons.” These people impacted so much in this genre and continue doing it, their main genre is pop even if they change it for an album or some singles. One great example is Lady Gaga. She impacted pop culture in the early 2000 for how extravagant she was and how catchy her songs were. Poker Face is and continues to be an acclimated song until today, for some of her fans this is still the best of her material. It was released in 2008, and it explored a topic that at the time was considered taboo. The song main idea is bisexuality, and she wrote it as a tribute to her past boyfriends.

“Pop Era” didn’t only stay on the American continent, but European continent was also influenced by it. One Direction is considered one of the biggest boy bands of all time. The band was formed in 2010 and quickly became a huge influential group with a huge fan base around the world. One Direction was together for 5 years until one of his members Zayn Malik decided to leave it and then the rest decided to take a break. Since then, they tried to perused solo careers realising albums on their one but they will always be remembered because of how many hearts they touched on for literally creating the “Best Song Ever”.

These and more amazing songs can be heard on NR92 with a huge catalog of other Pop songs. Every song goes hand in hand with entraining content brought by the DJs and hosts.
