Pride @ NAIT looking to open safe space

Pride @ NAIT has long served as a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community at NAIT.
Club President, Kyra Chrumka, believes NAIT needs a more permanent safe space, so queer students have somewhere to go when the club isn’t meeting. This belief is shared among the other members of Pride @ NAIT. Chrumka has been working with the offices of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to do this.
Chrumka says, “I’ve influenced something similar to that. It’s a semi-permanent safe space that we have in the works right now. And yeah, I do think it’s very valuable to have a place where people can just go to and connect with others like them. “
While it’s not confirmed, the proposed safe space will be in the T-Building, near the gym.
