New NAITSA President proving NAIT’s learning philosophy

NAIT prides itself on being a hands-on learning institution, stating that its students are ready for industry the moment they walk out of NAIT’s doors. New NAITSA president, Lilly Houcher is a good example of that idea. Houcher says that while her NAIT classes have helped her with her presidency, her presidency has helped her put her classroom learnings into practice.

“It was just theory, it was like, okay yeah this is great but…what does this really mean. Now being in a business environment where I have a team and that I support and I work with and makes those theories so much more real.”

Houcher’s experience is a real life example of how NAIT’s philosophy towards learning is working for students. Houcher will be the NAITSA president until the end of the school year so we will see how she continues to put her learnings into practice.
