New Francophone school opening in Sherwood Park

The demand for a francophone school in Sherwood Park has finally paid off. Opening in 2015, École Claudette-Et-Denis-Tardif gave French speaking Sherwood Park residents an opportunity to attend school in their preferred language.
For the last decade, the students have been attending school in a cluster of portables, however the construction of a brand-new building has parents and students looking towards the future. Meaghan Morton talks about the advantages of the school getting its own building.
“Just having a community closer to you is nice and like, people that I’ve known for a while have also been wanting this and its just nice to know that were finally getting what we’ve been asking and wanting for for years.”
The new school is expected to open its doors to students in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
