NAIT’s Pride Week 2025 is a great start

NAIT’s Pride Week in March is being hailed as a very successful series of events, but more can always be done for our diverse population of students.

Pride Week 2025 (March 10 – 14th) was filled with colourful events like NAITSA’s Drag Show and Pride Dirty Bingo. This is a unified week of celebration between Edmonton post-secondaries, and the goal is to provide support for the diverse student populations.

Pride@NAIT Vice President Kyra Chrumka says that NAIT could be doing more for their queer students.

“One thing that I am a huge advocate for is having a permanent safe space for students. The EDI Office (Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) has agreed to make part of their office a communal space where students can come in, sit there and hang out. I think that would be an amazing chance for students to always have a space to go to.”

Chrumka says that NAITSA consistently provides support even beyond Pride Week.

For more information and to get involved in the discussion, RSVP to the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Domain happening on March 31st.
