NAIT’s goal of increasing diversity in skilled trades

By Elizabeth Lindberg on February 29, 2024

The skilled trades are in a worker shortage.

NAIT is trying to help fix this issue by increasing diversity in the future of the industry.

Jennifer Maldonado, the Engagement Coordinator of the school of Skilled Trades, says that events like Jill of all Trades can help solidify the industry’s future.

“During the day, we have other individuals that identify as female who come and share their stories and their journeys though the trades and just encourage and empower these attendees that they can do it too.”

Promoting inclusivity within the future of the skilled trades ensures that the industry remains healthy for decades to come.
