NAIT Makerspace sadly goes unseen

The NAIT Makerspace gives students access to learning and developing new skills, but sadly it goes unnoticed.

To many students, it is not widely known, mainly due to its obstructed location and limited awareness. But despite this, the Makerspace is always looking to have more reach.

NAIT’s Library Director, Carmen Reems, thinks the solution to spreading more awareness of the space may lie in not just reaching the students but also working with instructors…

“Students tend to really hear and absorb the most recommendations from their instructors and programs. If an instructor is standing there saying ‘You really gotta check this out. This is gonna do this for you!’, you’re jotting it down.”

By using more ties into programs and forming curriculum connections, NAIT instructors could be a key to help the Makerspace into creating more growth.
