Balancing the student athlete lifestyle

When you walk the halls of NAIT, you never know who you may pass by. Multiple student athletes are roaming the halls everyday, maybe coming off a late night on the court, field, or ice.

From those who just play some Sunday rec league, all the way up to our very own Ooks, balancing that school and athletics lifestyle, can be a real challenge.

Reece Reaville, captain of the NJHL’s Gibbons Broncos gave some of his personal experience’s on maintaining that balance…

“I definitely try my best to be as ready an present in all of my classes of course, that’s definitely the number one priority. Definitely love just being able to get active. It sucks coming home at 12:30 or one o’clock some nights, but it’s definitely worth it once you get everything all together.”

The Gibbons Broncos are currently in the NJHL’s playoffs, so that means a few late nights for Reece. However the opportunity to make some lifelong memories on the ice, all while being a student in NAIT’s Television program, is something he would never pass up.
