AI’s place in gaming

Video games nowadays take multiple years at least to come out, so tools like generative AI look really appealing to game developers.

Although these tools may make development quicker the games overall quality might take a hit. NAIT’s Chair of Entertainment and Media Housam Jammaz, says that AI should only be used in the early stages of development.

“Because a lot of the games that we play and we love have that human element to it. That human final touch to the way the game works, the way the game runs. AI I believe just belongs in the beginning.”

AI’s place in gaming is focused on early placeholder assets that will be changed so games can keep the human touches we all know and love.
