Adam Young Makes us Feel Young

Everyone and their dog has heard about Owl City. I mean, Fireflies forcefully took over the airwaves back in 2009. But the man surrounded by them, is what makes this magic really come true. Adam Young features in a ton of different songs, and it’s all because his voice resonates so well with many different artists.

Like many of us, when Adam was a teenager, he would write songs about the girls he was dating. He continued to write and produce music in his mom’s basement, under the project name ‘owl city’. When he was working at a coca cola factory, he would think of songs while he worked, and write them out when he got home. After uploading songs to Myspace, Adams popularity blew up as he signed a record deal with Universal republic records. He would then go on to be featured in many different songs.

Adams project Owl city was at its highest when he released his third album, Ocean Eyes, featuring the 6 time platinum awarded song Fireflies. After releasing a couple more albums, he then produced 6 separate singles for different animated films, including Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, Wreck-It Ralph, The Croods and The Smurfs 2. Disney even signed him on to create one of their Main Street Electrical Parades. Adam has worked on so many projects, and featured with so many different artists, that ever since Ocean Eyes, it’s hard to see where the focus is. But that doesn’t stop us from having his synths, or his vocals rock our ear pockets.
